Yesterday, we had a great experience at Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturdays. Every First Saturday of the month, Brooklyn museum hosts a series of enlightening discussions, a dance party, and cultural exhibits. If you haven’t been already, next month is the time to capitalize on the fun.

At around 9pm, Brooklyn-based brand, Brooklyn Circus, presented a fashion showcase that revealed a side of the clothing line that we have rarely seen before. Known mostly for its urban appeal, Brooklyn Circus ripped the runway with vintage, 1920′s pieces. We like the change for the brand and are excited to see more of the bold-letter varsity jackets, cab hats, and cargo pants.

After the fashion show, the large crowd was separated right down the middle and guess what happened? In light of the recent death of Don Cornelius, a massive soul train line was formed and the fun commenced. Soul train was such a great time of expressive dance; dancers would prepare for weeks to debut new dances and trendy clothes. Last night at Brooklyn Museum, we were able to tap into our spontaneous sides; there was no rehearsal, but individuals still went dancing down the soul train line in fun spirits.
